McNary doesn’t want to be put out to pasture

December 24, 2010 By [email protected]

Like an old fire horse that reacts when he hears the siren, Gene McNary is running for office again.

McNary left his job at midyear as state Gaming Commissioner. Now at age 75 he’s going to run for St. Louis County assessor. He does have a primary opponent. McNary was elected St. Louis County prosecutor, then served time as the County Executive. He later was the head of the federal immigration and naturalization service.
