Christmas gift: camera stolen three years ago, returned

December 24, 2010 By [email protected]

The Christmas spirit is working both ways for Mary Sudekum of Des Peres, whose camera was stolen more than three years ago. It contained pictures she and her mother had taken during a European vacation. This week the camera showed up at her parents’ home with a note saying the thief had been hanging out with the wrong people and he was sorry for the theft.

All of the European pictures are still on the cameras, along with some other pictures that might show the thief and his friends. But Sudekum says she’s not giving the pictures to police because kids stole the camera, grew up a little,  realized they’d done something wrong and put things right.
