MU’s Jones reaches 1,000 points in win over UC-Riverside

December 22, 2010 By Bill Pollock

Senior Shakara Jones became the 28th player in Tiger history to reach 1,000 points as the University of Missouri women’s basketball team earned a 68-65 win over the UC Riverside Highlanders Tuesday night at Mizzou Arena. The win improved Mizzou’s record to 7-4.

Jones ended the game with 1,005 career points after scoring 13 in the contest, to go along with eight rebounds. Sophomore Christine Flores scored a game high 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from behind the arc. She also tallied eight rebounds and four assists. They were joined in double figures by senior RaeShara Brown and sophomore Sydney Crafton, who had 13 and 10 points, respectively.
