Kyle Weems

The Missouri Valley Conference announced that Missouri State junior Kyle Weems has been named as the league’s Player of the Week. In Saturday’s 81-65 non-conference win over Saint Louis, Weems became the first Missouri State player since 2005 (Blake Ahearn) to score 20 points in three consecutive games.

Weems’ game-high 26 points in the contest paced the Bears to their 9th win in 11 tries against the Billikens and helped push the Bears to their 18th straight non-conference home win. He also snagged a game-high 8 rebounds in the SLU contest, was 10-for-14 from the field and knocked down 3 three-pointers for the third game in a row.

The Bears (7-3) host Arkansas State on Wednesday at JQH Arena, starting at 7:05 p.m.
