A Springfield high school senior is taking the Missouri State High School Activities Association to court, hoping to play basketball for the rest of the season. The association has ruled Christian Kirk’s move back to Springfield from St. Charles was not made for athletic reasons. But it refused to grant him the hardship status he needs to play basketball.
He says he moved back to Springfield, where he had played freshman basketball, to care for his diabetic father.
