Robert and Laverne DuPont, the couple that ran the group home in Anderson that burned four years ago, want a new federal trial. Their attorneys say the charges against him were based on a faulty understanding of Robert DuPont’s role with the Joplin River of Life Ministries, which owned the Anderson Guest House. Eleven people were killed in a fire there.

DuPont had been barred from being part of the ministry’s management because of his previous connection to a Medicaid fraud case.
