No surprise, Cassel a no-go for Chiefs

December 12, 2010 By Bill Pollock

The Kansas City Chiefs ruled quarterback Matt Cassel out for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers. Cassel had an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday and team officials said early Thursday there was a 50-50 chance he could play.

Brodie Croyle,0-9 as an NFL starter will get the call. With the loss of the reigning AFC Player of the Month, it will make the task a little tougher in San Diego where the Chiefs can officially eliminate the Chargers from Division contention.
