162 and counting at special state prison

December 9, 2010 By [email protected]

The state’s special lockup in Farmington for sexually violent offenders is getting its 162nd inmate. He’s 60-year-old John Gorman, who’s been ruled by a jury to be a predator.

State law allows the continued imprisonment of people determined by a jury to be sexually violent predators after they have finished their prison sentences. Gorman has finished a 25-year sentence for the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old child. Before that he had done time for assaulting a 14-year-old child.
