Girl injured in drag race remains in critical condition

December 8, 2010 By admin

A 17-year-old Hazelwood girl hit by both vehicles in an illegal street drag race Sunday night remains in critical condition. An Illinois man believed to have been driving a pickup in the race has been arrested. Police say the girl waved the starting flag for the race and was hit by a car that was involved. The impact knocked her in front of the pickup that ran over her. Both vehicles left the scene.

The driver of the car has not been arrested yet.
