First part of new Eco Devo plan finished (AUDIO)

December 1, 2010 By [email protected]

The outline of a roadmap for Missouri’s economic development future has been written by a special state task force.

Forty-one leaders in education, economic development, business, and labor have listened to suggestions from six hearings throughout Missouri and suggest special efforts be made to create a climate for development of seven kinds of high-growth industries.

The seven are advanced manufacturing, energy solutions, and bioscience; Health Sciences and Services, Information Technology, Financial and Professional Services, and Transportation and logistics.

State economic development director David Kerr says the list does not mean traditional manufacturing will be ignored.

The task force will hit the road again next month for six more meetings to develop a strategy to meet the strategic objectives.
