Conservation confirms cougar in county

December 1, 2010 By [email protected]

Whatever you call it–a mountain lion, puma, cougar, catamount, panther–Platte County definitely has one. The Missouri Conservation Department confirms a mountain lion has been spotted in a tree in northwest Missouri’s Platte County. It’s only the 11th time since 1994 that the department has confirmed a reported sighting of a mountain lion in Missouri really is a mountain lion. The department says there are no records of mountain lion attacks on cattle, pets or people.
