New twists and turns seem to be turning up frequently as federal agents investigate the largest cash robbery in St. Louis history.

No one has been charged directly in the $9 million robbery of ATM Solutions by four heavily armed, masked robbers this summer. Authorities do have suspects who likely will face charges later.

Now, though, investigators are focusing on a kidnapping they think might be related to the robbery. The FBI reports two teen-age girls have been released unharmed after being abducted and held for ransom. Kidnappers demanded a huge ransom…apparently from a relative suspected of being connected to the heist. They freed the girls without getting the money. It’s believed it was one of the kidnappers who forced his way into a St. Louis apartment and held four people for two hours Monday night before fleeing.
