Jennies soccer suffers their first loss, ending their season

November 19, 2010 By Bill Pollock

The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team fell 3-2 to St. Edward’s in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Austin, Texas. It is the farthest a UCM soccer program has ever gone in the postseason tournament. The Jennies (19-1, 16-0 MIAA) tied an MIAA record with the two goals scored in the game, collecting a conference-high 57 goals in the season.

In the game, Central Missouri outshot St. Edward’s 8-3 and also had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Freshmen Brooke Cooley suffered the loss in net, ending her first season as a Jenny with a 17-1 record.

The Jennies end their season breaking many program and league records, including the 19 wins.
