Kansas City’s Major League Soccer Club announced a new club name and a new way of branding themselves to soccer fans along the Missouri and Kansas border. The team has dropped Wizards in place of Sporting Kansas City.

According to their official press release on their website, it says the club launched the Sporting Kansas City era with the organization’s new look, including a strategically designed crest, carefully chosen colors and bold new uniforms.

“We acquired our team from the greatest entrepreneur in the history of American Sports,” Sporting Club President Robb Heineman said referring to Lamar Hunt. “Moving forward, the vision of our brand is to continuously innovate and provide high-performance experiences for our members.”
