One escapee caught, all federal prisoners removed

November 17, 2010 By [email protected]

One of the escapees from the Lincoln County jail has been has been caught in Illinois. The federal marshal says John Wesley Jones has been found in the attic of a house in Swansea, Illinois, not far from St. Louis. Jones is the prime suspect in last summer’s multi-million dollar robbery of the ATM Solutions company in St. Louis.

Meanwhile, the escape of a federal prisoner being held in the Lincoln County jail is costing the county thousands of federal dollars. All 34 remaining federal prisoners are being taken out of the jail while the U. S. Marshals service re-evaluates the use of the jail.

Lincoln County has been paid a fee by the federal government to house its prisoners for almost a decade.
