Elderly woman killed in car-train crash

November 16, 2010 By [email protected]

A 76-year old woman has been killed near Olivette when she drove her car into the path of a train.

Officials say the crossing where Jacqueline Lederer was killed does not have a crossing gate although it does have bells and flashing lights.

The train was moving about 17 miles an hour at the time and pushed the car the length of a football field before it could stop.
