Toddler taken from Kansas City area home found safe in Iowa

November 11, 2010 By Jessica Machetta

The missing toddler from East Lynn has been found. The Iowa Highway Patrol found Syah D. Duffey, according to KCCI-TV in Iowa.

An Amber Alert had been issued for a Cass County 2-year-old girl.

Syah Duffey was reportedly taken from her home in East Lynne. Authorities say a heavy-set woman in her 20s or 30s — wearing a gray sweater and jeans — came into the home. The girls’ mother thought the suspect was with the Division of Family Services and handed the child over.

The suspect left with the girl in an older model white van with Iowa plates. Authorities suspect she was taking Syah to where the child’s father lives in Iowa.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at (816) 380-5200.
