Clay County presiding commissioner sues opponent

October 29, 2010 By [email protected]

Clay County’s presiding commissioner is suing his political opponent for libel and slander because of one of her campaign commercials.

Commissioner Ed Quick says a claim in Pam Mason’s commercial that he had done hard prison time for robbery and burglary is “crazy.”

Mason’s commercial uses 56-year-old documents that list Quick’s name in a complaint but do not show him convicted of anything or doing any prison time. He wants $1 million in damages.
