Jail inmate death triggers lawsuit against St. Louis

The death of a St. Louis jail inmate 17 months ago has triggered a wrongful death lawsuit against the city, jail officials, and the private contractor that provides medical care for inmates.

31-year-old Courtland Lucas collapsed at the jail after being arrested for a probation violation and was pronounced dead at a hospitals. He had a pacemaker. The lawsuit says he was not given proper medical treatment at the jail.
