Houston’s Matt Schaub scrambled and found Andre Johnson in the back of the end zone on an 11-yard touchdown pass with 28 seconds to play in the fourth quarter to give the Texans a come from behind 35-31 win over the Chiefs.

The Chiefs were up 31-21 with 7:05 left after Thomas Jones scored on an 11-yard touchdown run. Schaub led the Texans down the field and connected on two long passes that led to a one yard run by Adrian Foster making it a 31-28 game with 3:30 left in the game.

After the Chiefs were unable to run the clock out, when Matt Cassel missed on a pass to TE Tony Moeaki on third and two, the Texans drove 80 yards in nine plays for the winning score. KC had one last chance, but Cassel was sacked as time ran out near midfield.

The Chiefs led the entire game and rushed for 228 yards against the Texans who were fifth in rushing yards allowed in the NFL. Thomas Jones had 100 yards and Jamaal Charles finished with 93. The effective run game even opened up the passing game as Cassel was 20 of 29 for 209 yards and three touchdowns, his best game as a Chief. Cassel found Dwayne Bowe on TDs of 17 and 42 yards which opened up a 21-7 lead after the teams were tied 7-7 late in the first half. Cassel’s first touchdown came on the opening drive of the game, when he found linebacker Mike Vrabel on 4th and goal from the two on an opening drive that took 8:37 off the clock.

However, the Chiefs defense didn’t have much of an answer for Schaub as the Texans just outgained the Chiefs 421-417. Schaub was 25 of 33 for 305 yards with two touchdowns as the Texans found the end zone three times in the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs fall to 3-2 on the season.
