Charged with 5 bank robberies, pleads to 2, serves 15

October 1, 2010 By [email protected]

He was charged with five bank robberies, but has worked out a deal to plead guilty to two of them. St. Joseph resident Michael Sandgren will go to prison for 15 years without parole. If he’d been convicted in a trial, his sentence would have been as much as 52 years.

Investigators say Sandgren got about $5,800 in the two robberies he’s pleaded guilty to pulling off.
