Chiefs remain unbeaten

September 26, 2010 By Bill Pollock

The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-0 after a dominating performance over the San Francisco 49ers who have yet to win a game. The Chiefs got three touchdown passes from Matt Cassel and the defense got to quarterback Alex Smith five times, including three from Tamba Hali in their 31-10 victory.

The 49ers were coming off a game where they racked up over 400 yards against the Super Bowl champion Saints, but only managed three points until a late touchdown. Cassel was 16 for 27 for 250 yards. He connected with Dexter McCluster on a 31-yard run-and-catch and connected for 45-yards to Dwayne Bowe as offensive coordinator Charlie Weis got creative with a fake end-around. Rookie tight end Tony Moeaki caught his second touchdown with a one-handed grab on an 18 yard toss.

Jamaal Charles rushed for 97 yards for the Chiefs and Thomas Jones added 95, including a 3-yard scoring run that made it 31-3 with 3:27 left.
