The Kansas City Royals did score three runs last night, but that is all they would get off of Indians’ rookie pitcher Josh Tomlin.  He would throw a complete game four hitter, and the Indians beat the Royals, 7-3.

All of the Kansas City runs would come off of the bat of Wilson Betemit.  In the second inning, he would hit a sacrifice fly that would score Mike Aviles.  But that would be all the runs that would cross the plate for the Royals until the ninth.

In the ninth, Betemit would hit a two run home run that would also score Billy Butler.  He now has 13 home runs on the season.

Royals starter Luke Hochevar would struggle through his five innings on the mound.  He would give up four runs on eight hits.  He would also strike out five Indian hitters.  Gil Meche and Blake Wood would surrender the other three Cleveland runs.

Game three of the four game set will be this evening as Zack Greinke will be on the mound for the Royals.  The Indians will counter with Jeanmar Gomez.

First pitch is 6:05.
