Can you believe hockey has started? The NHL’s first preseason games took place Tuesday night and the Blues hosted Colorado losing 3-1 as goalie Jaroslav Halak made his debut with the Blues.
Halak made 15 saves and played the whole game, but gave up two goals, 31 seconds apart in the second period. David Jones and Luke Walker scored in that span for the Avs. After the game Halak said, “The first game is always a tough one after a break. Not the kind of result that we wanted, but we did some really good things out there.” Halak was acquired in a trade with Montreal and signed a four year deal with the Blues this summer. Peter Berglund scored for St. Louis.
Patrik Berglund scored St. Louis’ only goal.
