New figures from the U.S. Census Bureau indicate the percentage of people living in poverty in this state has increased faster at a rate more than three times the national average. The census bureau says 15.5 percent of Missourians live below the poverty level.
Bureau figures also show that 914,000 people did not have insurance in Missouri last year. That’s about one person in every six or seven.
