The Missouri Valley Football Conference named Missouri State quarterback Cody Kirby as the Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Bears’ game at Kansas State.

In his 32nd consecutive start Saturday, Kirby collected a career-high 333 yards of total offense in helping the Bears accumulate their highest point total against an FBS program since 2002. The senior co-captain threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions against the Wildcats, while rushing for a team-high 52 yards on 10 carries.

In the 48-24 loss, he put together scoring drives of 80, 58, 74, and 99 yards. The Bears gained 447 yards of total offense in the game, while committing just one turnover.
