Kansas City woman goes to prison for ID theft

A Kansas City con woman had one more con before she was sent to prison … but now she’s going to be out of circulation for ten years.

Margie Shephard had been charged with identity theft when she told investigators she knew of a federal workers doing the same thing. Her allegation sent a federal grand jury off on a lengthy investigation before it concluded Shephard was lying. She has been ordered to make more than $9,000 in restitution to her victims and to forfeit $40,000 in proceeds from her crime.
