Restaurant owner accused of filing false tax returns

September 8, 2010 By admin

The President of a company that operated restaurants in a half-dozen Missouri towns has been indicted for conspiring to file false federal tax returns. The managers of two of the restaurants also are named.

A federal grand jury has indicted Ismael Onate of Clarksville Tennessee, the owner of El Vaquero Mexican Restaurants in Warrensburg, Mexico, Hannibal, Kirksville, Moberly and Wentzville. Also indicted are the manager of the Mexico restaurant, Miguel Vega, and the Warrensburg manager, Javier Posada.

The indictment says they conspired to cheat the federal government out of more than $380,000 dollars in taxes.
