Royals come up short in the Twin Cities

September 6, 2010 By Bill Pollock

Jason Kubel hit a two run homer and Jim Thome added a solo shot in the fifth as the Twins scored three times to break a 2-2 tie and hold on for a 5-4 win over the Royals Monday afternoon at Target Field.

Sean O’Sullivan is still winless as a starter since joining the Royals from the Angels in July. The Royals grabbed a 2-0 lead on an RBI groundout from Brayan Pena and a double from Chris Getz in the 2nd inning, but the Twins got one back in the bottom half of the inning, then tied the game in the 4th on an RBI double from Thome.
