US House GOP leader Boehner to raise money for Hartzler, Martin

August 30, 2010 By admin

United States House Republican leader John Boehner will come to Jefferson City Labor Day Weekend to raise money for Vicky Hartzler in her bid to upset veteran West-Central Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton.

The Hartzler campaign has confirmed that Boehner will appear at a private residence in Jefferson City Saturday afternoon.

The visit comes as Republicans have stepped up their campaign for the 4th Congressional District, held by Skelton since 1976. Boehner represents the 8th Congressional District of Ohio and is the House Minority Leader. If Republicans can win seats such as Skelton’s, Boehner could become the next Speaker of the United States House.

Hartzler is a former state representative from Harrisonville.

Boehner also will travel to the St. Louis area that evening, also at a private residence, to raise money for Republican Ed Martin. Martin is challenging St. Louis area Congressman Democrat Russ Carnahan.
