A long night for the Kansas City Royals on the banks of Lake Erie, as they spot the Cleveland Indians a six run lead and things only went down from there.  The Indians went on to blow out the Royals, 15-4.

Royals’ starter Bryan Bullington had a night he would just as soon forget.  He would give up seven runs over his four innings of work.  Six of those would come in the second inning.

The Royals would get on the board in the fourth as they would put up three runs on the Indians.  One of those runs would come courtesy of a home run off the bat of Wilson Betemit.

But, the Cleveland bats were far from done.  They would put up one more run in the fourth, three in the fifth and five in the eighth.

Kansas City would get one more run in the ninth as Chris Getz would hit a single that scored Willie Bloomquist.

The Royals did finish the game with 16 hits.  But that is the same number of men that they would leave on base.

Game two of the series is tonight as Zack Greinke gets the start against the Indians’ Jeanmar Gomez.

First pitch is 6:05.
