St. Louis Rams receiver Donnie Avery, the team’s leading receiver from a year ago injured his left knee with less than two minutes to go in the first half of Thursday night’s game at New England when he landed wrong after going up for a pass from Sam Bradford. Rams’ head coach Steve Spagnuolo didn’t have a good outlook after the game.

“Donnie probably has a significant knee injury. We will know a little bit more when we get the tests.” Avery, jumped for Bradford’s long pass down the sideline, and it looked like his leg got twisted around, he fell and clutched his right knee as the ball sailed over his head.

Avery was a second-round draft pick out of Houston in 2008, and had 53 receptions as a rookie and started 28 games in his first two seasons.
