Attorney General Chris Koster today said he is pleased with a court ruling that will allow new restrictions on adult entertainment clubs passed by the legislature and which will become state law tomorrow.

“We believe that this new legislation passed by the Missouri General Assembly is constitutional and should become state law,” Koster said. “Prior state and federal rulings have upheld similar provisions contained in this new law, and we will continue to argue on behalf of its constitutionality if necessary.”

The Cole County Circuit Court found that the adult entertainment industry, which sought a temporary restraining order in blocking implementation of the law, did not meet its burden in showing the likelihood of success on the merits of its case.
