Former MU receiver Alexander signs with Rams

August 23, 2010 By Bill Pollock

The St. Louis Rams signed free agent wide receiver Danario Alexander and released wide receiver Brooks Foster.

Alexander (6-5, 221) was an All-Big 12 performer at the University of Missouri last season after catching 113 passes for 1,781 yards and 14 touchdowns. He led all Football Bowl Subdivision players in receiving yards in 2009. In four seasons with the Tigers, Alexander posted 191 receptions for 2,778 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Alexander stopped by Rams Park a couple of weeks ago and both GM Billy Devaney and head coach Steve Spagnuolo said they were impressed by their meetings with Alexander, but didn’t have space for him at the time. However, Devaney made it clear that Alexander was a guy on their radar.
