Only one developer has submitted a bid to replace the President Casino in St. Louis.
Casino Celebration, a group led by St. Louis developers Jim and Bill Koman, is the only team to submit a bid. Plain Joe Development, based in California, had shown interest, but failed to show at a meeting with city officials to decide which casino project to endorse before the Missouri Gaming Commission. Two other groups indicated some interests. Neither of those submitted bids.
Casino Celebration proposes a $115 million, 120,000 square foot complex at the foot of the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. A $26 million second phase, including a hotel, could be built later.
