Wrongfully convicted man settles lawsuit

August 11, 2010 By admin

A southeast Missouri man who spent 16 years in prison on a wrongful conviction has settled his lawsuit against Scott County and the law enforcement officers he had sued. A report in St. Louis says it’s a multi-million dollar settlement but Joshua Kezer’s is not discussing the specific amount. Neither is the presiding commissioner of Scott County.

Kezer had been convicted of killing a woman in 1992. But a judge ruled last year that the prosecution kept some key evidence secret from Kezer’s attorney during the trial. The real killer of Angela Lawless remains a mystery.
