Former Central Missouri Mules Alex Moosmann and Sanijay Watts will continue their basketball careers on the professional level, signing contracts to play in Germany. That puts the total to nine under Head Coach Kim Anderson since 2006 that have signed professional contracts since to play in Europe.
Moosmann, who was a first-team All-MIAA and all-region point guard selection after leading the nation with a 4.32 assist-to-turnover ratio, signed to play with RSV Eintracht Stahnsdorf in the German Pro B League.
Watts was a two-time All-American forward for the Mules, including first-team honors last season after averaging 21.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He signed with SOBA Dragons Rhoendorf of the German Pro A League.
“We are pleased that these two outstanding young men, who helped our program to 57 wins and a Final Four appearance, along with regional, conference, and conference tournament championships, will be able to continue their careers overseas.” Anderson said, “They are certainly deserving of this reward. They will be great representatives of UCM along with the other five Mules currently playing in Europe.”
The two, which report to camp on August 15, will join Michael Hicks (2004-06), Wadale Williams (2005-07), Alonzo Brooks (2005-07), Zack Wright (2006-07), and De’Andre Byrd (2007-09) as the other Mules still playing professionally overseas.
