For the second night in a row the Bronx Bombers had their way with the Royals at Yankee Stadium as Kansas City could manage only one run late in the game and lose 7-1.  Kansas City has now lost eight of their last six games.Royals starter Brian Bannister never got going as he would give up four runs in the first inning. After that, he would settle down, but the damage was already done. He would be pulled after a more than an hour and a half rain delay. Victor Marte would follow, and give up the other three runs to Kansas City.

The lone KC run would come in the top of the eighth thanks to an RBI double from Yuniesky Betancourt. This would score Rick Ankiel who had doubled to lead off the inning.

More bad news for the Royals yesterday as they learn they will be without David DeJesus for up to the next 10 weeks. DeJesus will have surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right thumb.

He sprained it as he went crashing into the Yankee Stadium fence in center field on Thursday night. KC recalled Alex Gordon from Triple A Omaha who was in the lineup last night. All eyes will once again today be on the Yankees Alex Rodriguez as he will be going after home run number 600. This would make Rodriguez the seventh player in Major League history to hit that many home runs. Last night, he was 2 for 4 at the plate.

Game three of the series will be this afternoon as the Royals will send Kyle Davies to the mound against the Yankees Sergio Mitre.

First pitch is 12:05.
