Carl Edwards was fined $25,000 and NASCAR placed him and Brad Keselowski on probation for the rest of the season following their last lap antics at the Gateway Speedway in the Nationwide race on Saturday. Edwards spun out Keselowski in the last turn which caused several cars to smash into Keselowski’s car.

Edwards’ owner Jack Roush, was also fined 60 owner points. Edwards was docked 60 points as well. Edwards felt Keselowski intentionally got into him in turn two on the final lap. Edwards said he was just fighting for what he felt belong to him and that was his third win at Gateway.

The 60 point penalty now pushes Edwards back 228 points behind Keselowski and gives him a commanding lead in the Nationwide points race.
