Royals prospect shines in Future’s All Star game

July 12, 2010 By Bill Pollock

The USA’s offense dominated in the Future’s All-Star game Sunday afternoon in Anaheim as festivities were underway for the Midsummer’s Classic. Shining bright for the U.S. was Royals’ propsect Eric Hosmer.

Hosmer went 4 for 5 and had a double in the eighth inning and drove in two runs while scoring two runs in a 9-1 over the World squad. Royals’ prospect Mike Moustakas played third base and went 0 for 3 stranding three runners.

The Cardinals had a couple of pitchers in the game for each squad. Cardinals prospect Eduardo Sanchez faced three batters and got three ground balls, but an error led to an unearned run. 2009 #1 pick Shelby Miller got both batters he faced on groundballs hitting 95 to 96 on the radar gun.
