The search for the two kidnappers of a Miller County boy has failed to turn up a sign of them in the high desert east of Gallup New Mexico. The father of Devon Denman and the Miller County sheriff are on their way to get the boy and bring him back to Missouri.
Reporter John McBreen tells us from Gallup that police will make a decision late tonight on whether to continue the search. Authorities are looking for the boy’s mother and her boyfriend who led police on a 100-mile an hour chase until their car had to stop with flat tires early this morning, our time. They escaped in the dark while authorities found the boy unhurt in the back seat of the car.
The U. S. Marshalls service and the FBI have joined the search but authorities fear the pair caught a ride out of the area before authorities closed I-40 for five hours this morning.
