St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday failed to make it out of the first round, when Miguel Cabrera, the last of eight hitters, pass up Holliday’s total of five.

Holliday had two outs before he connected on his first homer, then went into a slump moving up quickly to nine outs. Down to his final out, Holliday pumped four in a row deep to left field including one that traveled an estimated 497 feet.

Big Papi, David Ortiz of Boston put on quite a show last night at the Home Run Derby winning the contest for the first time in his career finishing with 11 homers in the final round and beating Hanley Ramirez of Florida who finished with 5 in the final round.  Big Papi hit a total of 32 home runs.

The National League is winless in the last 13 All Star Games, they hope to change that tonight.  Ubaldo Jimenez who just pitched a gem last week against the Cardinals will start for the National League.  David Price of Tampa will start for the American League.  In the first inning, you’ll see Albert Pujols, he’s batting third.  Yadier Molina, the other Cardinals’ starter is hitting 8th.
