The 72nd MWGA Women’s Amateur Championship is underway at Lake Forest Country Club in Lake St. Louis, MO. St. Louis’ Ellen Port shot a 74 and has a two stroke lead over Southern Illinois Carbondale’s Alisha Matthews and Katrina Choate of Drury.
The 2009 Missouri Senior Champion, Mary Ann Beattie trails by three along with Morgan Lamberson of Marshall, MO. The Amateur Championship yardage is 5911 yards, par 72.
The Mid Missouri Tournament is being led by 2008 Lake Forest Club Champion, Brenda Lammers of Lake St. Louis. Louwanna Bloom of Four Seasons, MO is three strokes back.
