A 4-year-old girl kidnapped from her front lawn in Louisiana, Missouri has been found, safe in Fenton.

The initial call described a little boy wandering in a parking lot at a strip mall. It turned out to be Alisa Maier, the subject of an Amber Alert. The girl has been reunited with her family after an examination to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. Fenton is about 70 miles from her home in northeast Missouri.

Attention now has turned to finding her abductor. Alisa’s 6-year-old brother told police a young white man driving a dark car ordered Alisa to get in. A similar description was given by witnesses at the Fenton car wash where Alisa was found. Police say the car might be a Ford Escort which might have a hole in its muffler or no muffler at all. The car is missing hubcaps. Police are looking for a dark-skinned white man in his 30s.

Family members say Alisa and her brother were playing in the front yard while their mother made dinner. A neighbor reported that the mother called police and then got in the family van to search for her daughter. The kidnapping sparked a massive search involving 100 volunteers and dozens of police officers. A prayer vigil was held on Tuesday night in a park.
