National League All-Star Adam Wainwright benefitted from a five run third inning as the Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1 Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

Wainwright, who found out he is making it to his first All-Star game, threw a five hitter and hit a bases clearing double off first time All-Star Yovani Gallardo, who left in the third inning with a side injury.

Corey Hart homered for the lone run off Wainwright (12-5), who struck out nine and walked none for his fourth complete game of the season and seventh of his career. In that five run third, all the runs came with two outs.
