Quisenberry memorial damaged during construction

July 1, 2010 By Bill Pollock

During 12 major league seasons, former Royals closer Dan Quisenberry mowed down American League Hitters for 244 career saves. Now Missouri highway construction crews have mowed down a memorial for Quisenberry along I-70.

While doing road work near the I-435 interchange, Workers plowed over a tree planted in memory of “Quiz” who died in 1998 after a short battle with cancer. MODOT plans to plant a new tree and rededicate the memorial once construction is finished.
