Missouri State golfer Jay McBride shot a seven under par 64 in the opening round of the Missouri Amateur Golf Championships on Tuesday at Twin Oaks in Springfield. McBride enters the second round two shots ahead of Jefferson City’s Connor McHenry, a former champion, Springfield native Mark Monroe and Missouri Tiger William Harrold.

After today’s second round, the championship field is cut to 64 where match play begins with single rounds of 18 holes played Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the final 36 holes on Sunday.
