Cardinals’ four, four baggers helps in win over Jays

June 23, 2010 By Bill Pollock

The Toronto Blue Jays lead the majors in home runs and they hit more last night, but the Cardinals showed some pop in their bats as well going deep four times in a 9-4 in the series opener in Toronto.

Matt Holliday, who was just named the NL player of the week for his amazing power surge last week that saw him hit four homers, hit another one last night along with Yadier Molina, Colby Rasmus, and Felipe Lopez. Holliday finished the night 3 for 5 and is hitting .464 in his last seven games.

Jose Bautista hit two home runs to add to his major league lead of 20. One of those came off rookie starter Jaime Garcia who moves to 7-3 after pitching six innings, allowing three runs on six hits.
