Two conflicting reports are coming out regarding Texas and the Big 12. First, ESPN is reporting that as early as today, it could be announced that Texas will jump to the Pac-10 along with Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to the Pac-10, but another report says the Longhorns are ready to stick it out with the Big 12.

According to ESPN sources, Texas A&M is now most likely to join the SEC. However, according to Orangebloods.com, a publication that focuses on Texas athletics, they are reporting that UT could commit to staying in and save what remains of the Big 12 Conference.

That could happen as early as Monday afternoon. The Orangebloods.com report said that Texas had been convinced to stay in a 10-team Big 12, thanks to a plan put together that includes assurances that a TV deal could net each schools between $14 million and $17 million, however, in Dan Beebe’s plan, Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A & M would receive in the neighborhood of $20-$25 million.
