According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Missouri, and Kansas State are on the Mountain West’s radar as the Big 12 landscape continues to change. On Friday, the Mountain West announced that Boise State was joining the conference.

While those schools are still saying publicly that the Big 12 can be a viable conference, even Missouri A.D. Mike Alden admitted anything under eight school minimizes a conference.

Here is ultimately how I see the rest of the Big 12 playing out, if after Tuesday Texas decides to leave for the Pac 10. (That is when their Board of Regents votes) If Texas leaves, the other four schools named to join them will follow suit.

While the Mountain West and even Big East has expressed interest in Missouri, I think the Big Ten will pick up MU, KU, K-State and Iowa State once the dust settle and the Big 12 folds.
